Position Details:

General Responsibilities:

Conduct classes and supervise extracurricular activities as directed. Operate at one or multiple schools based on workload and enrollment.

Major Duties:
  1. Conduct classes according to Army directives and assist the Senior Army Instructor (SAI) with reports and equipment requests.
  2. Coach JROTC teams such as Color Guard, drill, range, and marksmanship.
  3. Supervise cadets in curricular and extracurricular activities and participate as needed.
  4. Assume duties of the SAI in their absence.
  5. Maintain Army standards for uniform and conduct.
  6. Assist in program management and administration.
  7. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Graduate of Army NCO Academy preferred.
  • U.S. Army retiree with 20+ years active duty in grades SFC to SGM required.
  • Teaching experience at Senior ROTC or Military Service School in the last 5 years preferred.
  • Recent service in combat arms preferred.
  • Experience coaching military teams preferred.
  • Not retired more than 5 years at employment date; must be certified by Fourth ROTC Region.
  • Meet physical standards per Army Regulation 40-501.
  • Capable of military instruction and knowledgeable about Army supply and administrative procedures.
  • Effective communicator and leader.
Supervision:

Receives direct supervision from the Senior Army Instructor or Principal; indirect supervision from the Supervisor for Army Instruction. Gave supervision to cadets.
