Summary

Assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning school program environment where students can fully benefit from activities and resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Set up the Center.
  2. Assist with daily operations to meet licensing, fire, and sanitation requirements.
  3. Process participant applications and establish student files.
  4. Supervise Volunteers, Tutors, and other staff.
  5. Help develop activity schedules aligned with program needs.
  6. Contribute to building an efficient team with shared responsibilities.
  7. Ensure parents read and sign the parent information book before enrollment.
  8. Assist in creating monthly program newsletters.
  9. Order equipment and supplies.
  10. Maintain open communication with parents regarding concerns.
  11. Help prepare flexible and creative activity schedules.
  12. Provide supervision indoors and outdoors.
  13. Keep the environment clean and organized.
  14. Use appropriate language with children and parents.
  15. Practice suitable discipline techniques.
  16. Model appropriate dress, grooming, and cleanliness.
  17. Be organized and prepared for daily activities.
  18. Build good rapport with students, staff, community, and vendors.
  19. Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality.
  20. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

Must provide documentation of:

  • Six months of child care experience with proof of age (18+), or
  • High school diploma/equivalency or 12 college credits including six in early childhood or related fields, or
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood or related fields, or credentials like N.A.C., C.D.A., or C.C.P.
Licensing/Certifications
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Negative TB test within 12 months or a health provider’s statement of TB status within 6 months.
  • Valid Food Handler’s card.
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of work practices, safety, supplies, and customer service.
  • Skills in following directions, attention to detail, basic math, organization, and communication.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and interpersonal skills.
Ada and Other Requirements

Physical activities include stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Work involves indoor classroom and outdoor environments, including noise exposure and standing for periods.
