About Our District

Serving a diverse student body, our district includes over half students of color, nearly half from low-income households, and about one-third English Language Learners, representing over 100 languages. We strive to ensure every child thrives academically and socially.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide supplementary instruction for targeted English Language Development in various settings.
  • Deliver language development instruction for recent arrivals (less than one year in US schools).
  • Coordinate with Bilingual Resource Specialists and staff to support EL students and their families.
  • Participate in team discussions regarding student transitions, graduation, and career planning.
  • Serve on student support teams to ensure culturally responsive practices.
  • Assist with assessments, including administering proficiency tests and monitoring student progress.
  • Engage families through communication and participation in conferences.
  • Support bilingual resource activities, including in 4K environments, focusing on social language and routines.
  • Manage EL case files, communicate with parents, and ensure compliance with district and state requirements.
  • Contribute to capacity building by collaborating with staff and providing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licenses in core content areas (Math, Science, English, etc.) with ESL certification.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural skills preferred.
