Job Overview

We are seeking talented, committed, and culturally competent High School Chemistry Teachers (11th grade) to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year.

KIPP Public Schools is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools dedicated to disrupting systemic educational inequity and creating a future without limits. Over 100,000 students attend one of the 270 KIPP schools across 28 regions in the U.S. KIPP Philadelphia Schools (KPPS) currently operates six schools serving approximately 2,400 students in North and West Philadelphia, with plans to open a seventh school this fall. By 2030, KPPS aims to lead ten schools serving about 4,000 students.

Key Responsibilities
Classroom Responsibilities
  • Create an affirming, engaging, and rigorous classroom environment
  • Develop lesson plans using provided curricula and resources
  • Infuse core values into lessons and school practices
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and focused learning space
  • Analyze student work and data to inform instruction
  • Provide accommodations for diverse learners
  • Keep accurate records and communicate regularly with families
  • Model and uphold school policies
  • Serve as a positive role model
Professional Responsibilities
  • Develop your teaching craft through coaching and feedback
  • Participate actively in school-wide professional development
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to grade-level teams
  • Share solutions-oriented feedback
  • Embody KPPS core values: Children First, Cultural Competence, Ownership, Community
  • If applicable, enroll in/complete teacher certification programs
School Responsibilities
  • Arrive by 8:00 a.m., stay until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Attend school functions outside regular hours
  • Contribute to school-wide events and initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with families
  • Support duties such as bus, lunch, and dismissal
  • Chaperone field trips and participate in additional duties as needed
Qualifications & Credentials
  • Passion for student potential and high expectations
  • Ability to foster an inclusive, rigorous classroom environment
  • Commitment to professional growth
  • Ability to collaborate positively with a team
  • At least 2 years of full-time urban teaching experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Pennsylvania State certification Level I or II preferred; if uncertified, must be working toward certification
  • Complete background checks: PA State Police, Child Abuse, and Federal Fingerprinting
