Position Information

• Title: Elementary Teacher (Kindergarten - 5th Grade)
• Classification: Exempt - 187 or 189 Day Contract
• Salary: According to Certified Compensation Plan (based on Education and Experience)
• Reports To: School Principal

Responsibilities

Teaches various subjects including reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music. Develops lesson plans, adapts curriculum to student needs, manages classroom behavior, evaluates student progress, communicates with parents, and participates in curriculum development and school activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and classroom management
• Knowledge of assessment data and safety procedures
• First aid and CPR certification
• Arizona Department of Education Certification/Endorsement and DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card

Physical and Other Requirements

Ability to perform physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 pounds and moving objects up to 125 lbs.
