Qualifications

Job description

Qualifications:

Missouri Teacher Certification or Substitute Teacher Certification

Reports To:

Building Principal/Athletic Director

Supervises:

25 student athletes

Job Goal:

To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the value of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Coach individual student athletes in the skills necessary for excellence in chosen sport.
  2. Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
  3. Work with athletic director in scheduling, purchasing equipment, supplies, uniforms, etc.
  4. Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, lineups, statistics, etc.
  5. Establish performance criteria for eligibility for competition.
  6. Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
  7. Work closely with college recruiters through mail and phone calls.
  8. Organize camps and clinics when appropriate.
  9. Organize and oversee off-season conditioning.
  10. Attend/participate in clinics to enhance knowledge and improve program.
  11. Plan and coordinate end of year awards banquet.
