Job Overview

This position provides leadership for the school's athletic program, focusing on the development, implementation, and improvement of the specific sport coached.

Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate the sport in compliance with MSHSAA standards;
  2. Implement athletic standards from the MSHSAA Handbook and attend required sessions;
  3. Assist in program coordination and supervise students during practices and contests;
  4. Manage logistics for transportation, facilities, officials, and game operations;
  5. Organize and schedule practices to maximize student-athlete development;
  6. Ensure safety and proper injury management procedures;
  7. Maintain ethical conduct and sportsmanship during all activities;
  8. Assist in the return of school equipment per district policies;
  9. Engage in professional growth through clinics and publications;
  10. Complete required coaching courses and first aid training.
Professional Development

Must complete 8 hours of professional development, including district meetings, school meetings, and outside clinics.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Teacher Certificate, Substitute Certificate, or Provisional Teacher’s Certificate
Preferred Qualifications
  • Full or part-time employment within the district;
  • Employment as a teacher or administrator at the school applying for the position.
Physical Demands

Ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, reach, bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least 25 pounds.

Terms of Employment

Seasonal work year, full-time, entry level, in Education and Training industry.
