Hilton Central School District is seeking an Assistant Cook responsible for meal preparation and cooking. Ideal candidates should have prior experience in fast-paced food environments and be able to manage various kitchen tasks. Responsibilities also include supervising staff when the Cook Manager is unavailable.
TheHilton Central School District has a vacancy for an Assistant Cook. Exact hours and locations will be discussed during interviews. Responsibilities include but are not limited to cold meal prep,preparing and cooking hot food, salads, A La Carte items and more. The Assistant Cook will also serve as the supervisor in the absence of theCook Manager. Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics:
Must meet minimum qualifications of Civil Service as described
Previous cooking experience in a fast paced environment
Strong ability to multi-task
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Appointments are subject to a one year probationary period and are subject to Board of Education approval.
Positive fingerprint clearance through the NYSED is required.
Minimum qualifications (per Civil Service) for this position are EITHER: (A)Successful completion of a recognized certificate program in Food Service Administration specifically dealing in Food Production rather than Management; OR,(B)One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in food preparation on a large scale for a cafeteria, restaurant, hotel, or institution, other than short order or fast food.
NOTE: Applicants qualifying under option (A) must submit a copy of a certificate or diploma in support of satisfactory program completion.
