Job Title: Science Teacher
Credentials:

Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with endorsements for the appropriate level/subject area.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field from a recognized college/university.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Successful prior teaching experience preferred.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.

Building Principal

Terms of Employment
  • Contract Length: 182 days for returning teachers; 182 days + Induction Week for new teachers.
  • Work Schedule: 30 minutes before and after school and special events.
  • Sick Leave: 10 days.
  • Personal Business Leave: 3 days.
  • Teacher Retirement: Paid in full.
Position Purpose

Develop students' skills in science, including general science, earth science, biology, physiology, chemistry, and physics; foster scientific methods and problem-solving skills.

Essential Functions
  • Teach science knowledge and skills according to curriculum.
  • Promote critical and creative thinking.
  • Create a safe, conducive classroom environment.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials.
  • Design activities demonstrating science applications, research projects, demonstrations, and labs.
  • Instruct on proper use and care of scientific equipment and chemicals.
  • Assess student learning and modify instruction accordingly.
  • Familiarity with standardized tests and curriculum adaptation.
  • Engage in professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with parents.
  • Ensure student conduct aligns with school policies.
  • Collaborate with staff and participate in meetings.
  • Manage supplies and equipment.
Additional Duties

Perform tasks assigned by the Principal and administrators.

Equipment

Use standard office and educational equipment.

Travel Requirements
  • Travel to district buildings and meetings.
