Job description

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the personal care and treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in residential or supported independent living settings, under the supervision of the Residential Services Coordinator, Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled.
  2. Implement skill acquisition plans, understand stages of change and substance use disorders related to each individual's plan of service, aiming to promote independence.
  3. Serve as a resource and referral for residents to meet their needs.
  4. Support mental illness symptom management, assist with daily living skills such as medication management, personal care, communication, cleaning, meal prep, laundry, and de-escalation techniques.
  5. Maintain required documentation and facilitate residents' participation in community activities.
  6. Attend mandatory team meetings and in-service training sessions.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Must obtain and maintain certification in Department of Community Health Group Home Skill Training.
  • Ability to understand written instructions and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to read and follow medication charts.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed, including Therapeutic Options A & B on an emergency basis.
  • Physically able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Conditional Employment Requirements:
  • Background check, physical exam, and verification of an acceptable Michigan driving record.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and annual physical exams.

$19.91 per hour.

  • Monday 3pm-9pm
  • Thursday 3pm-11pm
  • Friday 12pm-9pm
