Job description

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Crisis Services Coordinator, the clinician will serve as a Master's level professional providing a range of mental health and substance abuse services within a multi-community team. The role involves providing immediate crisis intervention to consumers with mental illness or co-occurring substance use disorders. The clinician will work remotely in collaboration with Lansing Police and Fire Departments to offer timely treatment during emergencies, identify appropriate stabilization treatments, and maintain ongoing communication with community partners. Responsibilities include extensive case documentation, assessing behaviors and trauma through interviews and observations, reviewing records, and developing brief crisis intervention plans using a strength-based model. The clinician is expected to perform all activities in alignment with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Valid State of Michigan credential.
  • At least one year of professional or paraprofessional experience working with individuals with mental illness, or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience in the same.
  • Ability to complete detailed documentation within electronic records.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and solid computer skills preferred.
  • Reliable transportation for job-related activities.
Conditional Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, credential verification, driving record check, professional license verification, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check, work history verification, and passing a pre-employment drug screen.

Salary and Hours:

Annual salary ranges from $64,303 to $72,388, with potential increases up to $82,932. The work schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and every other Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
