Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring for an ED support role working 24 hours per week from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

The position involves preparing the ED for patient care, transporting patients, and performing essential clinical tasks under supervision. Required qualifications include CNA/EMT/MA credentials or enrollment in a nursing program with clinical rotations, CPI within 6 months, and a preference for candidates with a Paramedic license.

Qualifications

• Current CNA license or EMT license or Medical Assistant program graduate, or enrollment with at least 1 year of clinical rotations.
• CPI certification due within 6 months of hire.
• Paramedic license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, stocks, and readies the ED for patient care.
• Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations.
• Performs clinical tasks such as EKGs, wound care setup, sterile technique, and specimen collection.
• Assists in EDMD and Orthopedics with splints and immobilizers and sets up orthopedic clinic.
• Performs blood draws as required.
• Follows physician and ED nursing staff directions.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

• Cleans, stocks, and readies the emergency department for care for patients.
• Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
• Performs clinical functions, like EKG’s, suture set-up, assists in wound cleansing as ordered, utilizes sterile technique when necessary, obtains labs specimens: urine and serum, and other tasks as needed.
• Assists in EDMD and Orthopedist by applying splints, molds and immobilizers to injured extremities as ordered and sets up orthopedic clinic.
• Perform lab draws as required.
• Carries out tasks as directed by physicians, nurse director and ED nursing staff.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required:

• Current Certified Nurse Assistant License, EMT Licenseor graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant programrequired or current enrollment in a nursing program with at least1 year of clinical rotations completed; or a minimum of 2 years current experience as an ED Tech.
• CPI required within 6 months of hire.
• Preference given to those who hold a Paramedic license

Pay Range:

$19.90 - $34.81

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms ofthe applicable collective bargainingagreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
