Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an ED Support Technician in Plymouth, MA for a part-time Day shift (24 hours per week) with every other weekend and holiday rotations. Responsibilities include ED readiness, patient transport, basic clinical tasks (EKG, sutures, labs), and assisting in EDMD/Orthopedics with immobilizers.

Requires a CNA/EMT or MA program graduate, or ED Tech experience, plus CPR. The role is covered by the collective bargaining agreement; flu vaccination is required.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license or EMT license or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required, or current nursing program with at least 1 year of clinical rotations completed; or minimum 2 years ED Tech experience.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, stocks, and readies the emergency department for patient care.
• Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
• Performs clinical functions (EKG, suture setup, wound cleansing) using sterile technique and collects lab specimens.
• Assists in EDMD and Orthopedics by applying splints, molds, and immobilizers as ordered.
• Prepares and draws labs as required.
• Follows physician, nursing and director instructions; participates in patient care activities as directed.
