Job summary

County of Scott (MN) is recruiting a Public Safety Telecommunicator to receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency requests and to dispatch appropriate services in a 24/7 operation. This role requires accuracy, concentration, and multi-tasking while handling calls via radio, phone, and computer systems.

Minimum qualifications include a HS diploma/GED with dispatch experience or related work, or an Associate's degree or higher.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma/GED and one year of 911 Public Safety Dispatch experience OR
• HS diploma/GED and two years of related work experience OR
• HS/GED plus one or more years post-secondary education and six months of related work experience OR
• an Associate's degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Receives and prioritizes all incoming 911 and non-emergency telephone calls for Scott County.
• Dispatches emergency and non-emergency calls for nine police departments, eight fire departments, four ambulance services and other providers.
• Work schedule covers 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and holidays.
