Job summary

Computational Physics, Inc. (CPI) in Washington, DC, seeks a full‑time Operations Analyst to support USNO’s automated timing and astrometric products. You will monitor systems, respond to alarms, and coordinate with 24/7 watchers to ensure data availability and integrity.

Active Secret clearance is required with eligibility for Top Secret/SCI. The role is on site at USNO DC with a competitive package and employee ownership.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant technical experience in operational environments.
• Ability to follow SOPs and apply judgment when guidance is incomplete.
• Strong written and verbal communication of technical findings.
• Knowledge of timing, GNSS, EOP, or VLBI data is a plus.
• Watch-center or 24/7 operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor automated generation of USNO products.
• Inspect hardware and monitor health of data acquisition systems.
• Respond to alarms and coordinate remedial actions per SOPs.
• Report product availability and escalate issues as needed.
• Coordinate with watch team lead and USNO staff on functionality.
