Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Manufacturing Support Engineering Manager to lead a 24/7 team responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements in a GMP manufacturing environment. The role balances urgent production needs with planned maintenance while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.

You will coordinate across Manufacturing, Quality, Automation, and Capital Engineering on equipment qualification, maintenance plans, and formal documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years GMP environment experience.
• 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead MSE staffing, shift handoffs, and escalation processes to ensure consistent equipment support across all shifts.
• Manage PM planning, scheduling, execution, and closure; assess overdue maintenance.
• Own work notifications from assessment through execution, documentation, and closure; prioritize by safety and production impact.
• Guide troubleshooting and repairs; coordinate specialists and vendors; verify checks before return to service.
• Allocate resources across breakdowns, planned maintenance, and improvements; review backlog and aging work.
• Communicate equipment status and recovery plans to site leadership and clients; lead escalation during major events.
