Job summary

CyrusOne is seeking a Critical Environments Operator to support a 24/7/365 data center operations team. You will monitor mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/R systems, respond to alarms, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure peak reliability.

The role offers a clear path for career progression from Associate to Lead Operator. Candidates should be safety-minded, collaborative, and able to work flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Level I: 0–2 years in operations, maintenance, or customer service roles; safety mindset and willingness to learn are key.
• Level II: 3–5 years in data centers or technical maintenance; CMMS familiarity a plus.
• Level III: 5–7 years with journeyman-level skills; able to operate independently and mentor others.
• Level IV: 7+ years with journeyman/master level; HVAC/Journeyman license preferred; lead activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/R systems for uptime and reliability.
• Respond to alarms; protect critical load and perform root-cause analysis.
• Execute preventive maintenance following SOPs/MOPs/EOPs/MMRs.
• Use CMMS to track work orders, labor, and PMs.
• Coordinate with contractors; enforce LOTO and safety protocols.
• Make operational modifications and safe working-area setups.
• Adhere to company, government, and client policies and EHS requirements.
• Senior level: mentor juniors, lead switching events, assist capacity planning.
