Job summary

Ozark Center seeks a Crisis Specialist to join the 24/7 Crisis Intervention Team. You will provide timely crisis intervention and facilitate hospitalization when needed, with physician access for consultation. A trauma-informed approach and trauma-focused care are emphasized to minimize further victimization.

You will be supervised by QMHP and work within Freeman Health System to support behavioral health needs across multiple services and locations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in behavioral health or related field.
• QMHP qualification as outlined by Missouri Department of Mental Health.
• QAP credential as defined by Missouri Department of Mental Health.
• Bachelor's degree in human services with behavioral health/related experience.
• High school diploma plus four years of higher education and/or qualifying experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical crisis intervention and manage hospitalization in emergencies.
• Ensure crisis access is readily available and involve significant others when possible.
• Focus on present issues, reduce stress, and consider medication as needed to ease crisis.
• Offer advocacy, supportive guidance, and identify adaptive responses for resolution.
• Report to Crisis Services Supervisor and operate under Freeman Health System administration.

Education

Master's degree in behavioral health

QMHP qualification

Qualified Addition Professional (QAP)

Bachelor's degree in human services with related experience

High school diploma with higher education/experience
