Job Description

This description outlines the major responsibilities expected of a new hire for the position of Meat Cutter. Responsibilities include:

1. Providing friendly and courteous customer service.
2. Using all tools, including power tools such as saws, grinders, cubing machines, sealers, and wrapper machines.
3. Weighing, wrapping, labeling, and pricing products.
4. Cleaning all meat equipment and tools.
5. Performing work in the meat department, including cutting and preparing various meat cuts, grinding meat, and preparing products for the display case.
6. Suggesting products and sampling to customers.
7. Receiving and stocking products, rotating stock, and reading shelf tags.
8. Following safety guidelines and maintaining cleanliness.
9. Checking and maintaining temperature controls.
10. Pulling products for storage at closing.
11. Other duties as assigned by store management.

Training

Training will be provided at the store level.

Physical Demands

Includes bending, stooping, working in cold and wet environments, lifting up to 125-150 pounds, and standing for entire shifts (8 hours).

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

• Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks for store/facility teammates.
• Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks for store support center teammates.
• Must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline.
• Manager approval may be required for interviews based on performance.
