Job Description

The Assistant Meat Manager will perform all duties of an experienced clerk, solve practical problems, and interpret instructions. They will assume Department Manager responsibilities in their absence. Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining safety guidelines
• Assigning duties to team members
• Cutting retail beef, pork, lamb, and veal
• Grinding sausage
• Ordering and merchandising products
• Ensuring department standards are met
• Inspecting product freshness
• Writing work schedules and training new teammates
• Providing excellent customer service

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Journeyman Meat Cutter or equivalent
• Experience with meat saws and grinders
• Leadership experience preferred

This position is 40 hours per week with flexible hours, including weekends, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Additional Internal Requirements:

• Minimum six months employment with Schnucks for store/Facility teammates
• Minimum one year employment for Store Support Center teammates
• In good standing, not on disciplinary actions
• Manager approval required for interviews based on performance
