Position: Credit Analyst III

Reporting Relationships: Supervised by the Regional Credit Officer (Central, East, or West).

Qualifications

Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Alternatively, a high school diploma with at least seven years of relevant commercial lending or underwriting experience. Certification in financial analysis, credit risk, and lending is normally required; ongoing certification is expected.

Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; comprehensive knowledge of lending regulations, financial statement analysis, risk assessment, loan structuring, and banking procedures; proficiency with PC software including spreadsheets and loan management systems; excellent time management; ability to train and guide junior staff; valid driver's license.

Experience: Minimum of seven years in banking with supervisory experience preferred.

Core Responsibilities
  • Financial statement analysis and tax return review for commercial clients.
  • Providing detailed narrative analysis on financial condition, cash flow, ratios, industry comparison, and collateral.
  • Recommending risk ratings, conducting annual reviews of major relationships, and assessing ongoing credit risk.
  • Guiding retail branch staff on loan decisions and updating critical asset reports.
  • Ordering and reviewing appraisals, evaluating collateral, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Preparing loan presentations, underwriting proposals, and assessing policy adherence.
  • Approving loans within authority, reviewing environmental and property reports, and training junior analysts.
  • Participating in special projects, maintaining relationships across departments, and supporting risk management and compliance efforts.
Additional Duties
  • Representing the bank in community activities and supporting internal policies to ensure a harassment-free environment.
Work Environment & Benefits

Position based at Operations Center and various external locations. Benefits include PTO, holidays, health insurance, 401(k), wellness programs, stock options, and performance reviews. Salary range: $46,000 to $101,200. This is a salaried position, not eligible for overtime.
