Job summary

PACCAR is offering a Winter 2027 Accounting Internship designed to provide hands-on experience in a Fortune 500 setting. The role reports to the Accounting Manager and involves diverse accounting tasks, including month-end close, fixed assets, and accounts payable.

Eligible students should be pursuing or have completed a degree in Accounting or a related field, with strong Excel and communication skills. The internship pays hourly, with benefits typical of U.S.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills; multitasking and meeting deadlines.
• Proficient in Excel; familiarity with SAP or RPA is a plus.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, or related accounting tasks is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Participate in month-end close activities and journal entries.
• Assist with fixed assets setup, depreciation, and asset inventory.
• Support month-end and quarter-end closing tasks and internal control testing.
• Process accounts payable including intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Assist with vendor statements and expense report reviews.
• Work on other special projects as assigned.

Division Information

The Role

PACCAR is searching for talented individuals to join out Accounting Internship Program to start January of 2027. This is a full-time position and responsible for performing a variety of accounting activities and will report to the Accounting Manager.

Job Responsibilities

• Month-end: Participate in month-end financial close cycle:
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Preparation and analysis of general ledger account reconciliations
  • Reporting results to the financial reporting group
• Fixed Assets: Coordinate the inventory, set up and depreciation of Fixed Assets
• Assist in month-end and quarter-end closing tasks, such as internal control testing and government reporting.
• Accounts Payable: Assist the Accounts Payable function through:
  • Invoice processing including intercompany transactions
  • Vendor statement reconciliations
  • Expense report review
• Other special projects assigned

Required Experience & Skills

• Ability to work under pressire and multitask within a fast-paced enviornment
• Communicate clearly with team members, technical support groups, and management
• Deadline-driven and self motivated
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independantly, handling multiple tasks, and changing priorities while meeting non-negotiable deadlines
• Attention to detail with a "big picture" focus
• Proficcient comouter skills including Excel, Work, PowerPoint and Access.
• SAP/RPA experience is a plus

Education

Preferred completed bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or related field.
