Job summary

DFW International Airport offers a summer Risk Management internship funded by the Spencer Educational Foundation (SEF). As an internal consultant, you will influence the airport's safety and compliance through hands-on experience in enterprise risk management modeled after a professional consulting firm.

You will deliver presentations to management, engage in professional development, and participate in cross-functional project work within the Risk Management Department to solve real business

Qualifications

• Active student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Data Science, Finance, Computer Information Systems, or related Business Administration programs.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Current, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from an accredited college or university.
• 60 hours or undergraduate course credit completed by May 2027.
• A copy of current transcript for approval by the Spencer Educational Foundation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or present written, oral, and electronic presentations to management staff.
• Participate in professional development activities providing practical experience in applying academic skills to business problems.
• Participate in project work assisting department professionals developing procedures, performing financial, operational, or business analysis, or developing/evaluating performance measures.
• May compile business or operational data; assist in forecasting activity levels; assist in developing business solutions to departmental or organizational problems.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Data Science, Finance, Computer Information Systems, or related Business Administration programs

60 hours completed/undergraduate coursework by May 2027

As a Risk Management summer intern, you will work as an internal consultant where you will directly impact the airport's safety and compliance. You will experience and learn from our comprehensive enterprise risk management program which is run on a professional consulting firm model.

What You Will Be Doing

• Prepare and/or present written, oral, and electronic presentations to management staff.
• Participate in a variety of professional development activities providing practical experience in the application of academic skills toward the solution of business problems.
• Participate in project work assisting department professionals developing procedures, performing financial, operational, or business analysis, or developing/evaluating performance measures.
• May compile business or operational data; assist in forecasting activity levels; assist in developing business solutions to department or organizational problems.

What You Need

• Must be an active student in a Bachelor's degree program for Risk Management, Data Science, Finance, Computer Information Systems, or related Business Administration programs.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Current, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from an accredited college or university.
• 60 hours or undergraduate course credit completed by May 2027.
• A copy of current transcript for approval by the Spencer Educational Foundation.

What We Desire

• Current, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, including but not limited to students attending the following universities: University of North Texas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Texas at Dallas, Paul Quinn College, or University of Oklahoma.
