Cagayan State University is offering a hands-on opportunity in trust administration, giving you exposure to revocable, irrevocable, grantor, charitable, and life insurance trusts. You will learn fiduciary accounting, assist in account openings/closings, and support estate settlements while developing research and team skills.

The role seeks detail-oriented, analytically-minded students pursuing finance, math, economics or accounting with a 3.0 GPA and a path toward CTFA designation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field with minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Willingness to work toward CTFA designation.
• Experience at a brokerage or financial planning firm preferred but not required.
• Non-exempt position with potential overtime and travel.

Responsibilities

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Gaining an overview of the process of trust administration.
• Getting hands-on experience with various types of trusts: revocable, irrevocable, grantor, charitable, and life insurance trusts.
• Understanding fiduciary accounting and a trust accounting system.
• Facilitating account opening and closing processes.
• Performing and monitoring most aspects of daily trust administration for Trusts Officer’s book of business.
• Preparing receipts and disbursements.
• Researching trust terms unique to each relationship and governing document.
• Assisting in the process of estate settlement.
• Contributing to team projects.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Detail-oriented leader with problem solving, strong analytical, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, economics, accounting, or related field.
• Optional: Pursuing a JD.
• Academic success with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Agreement to work towards obtaining the CTFA designation.
• Experience at a brokerage, financial planning firm/practice, or money management firm is preferred but not required.

This is a non-exempt position that may require work hours exceeding the standard 40-hour work week and some local, national, and occasional international travel.
