Job summary

Morgan's Camp in Texas is seeking Operations Staff for the summer season. This is an on-site position with a weekly stipend that includes room and board.

You will work closely with the Program, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Kitchen departments to keep the camp running smoothly. Responsibilities include operating the Wonder Wagon, restocking First Aid, stocking water stations, supporting dining operations, volunteer check-in, camp store, and preparations for incoming camps and events.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

• Self-motivated with strong time-management and attention to detail.
• Ability to work across departments and with volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Operate Wonder Wagon for camper transportation on-site.
• Restock First Aid kits and manage inventory.
• Keep water stations stocked and ready for daily use.
• Assist Hartman Hall dining operations, including meal service and cleanup.
• Support volunteer check-in and oversight.
• Maintain and operate the Camp store.
• Assist with program preparations for incoming camps.
• Support Maintenance and Housekeeping as needed.
• Provide basic AV support for camp activities and setup/takedown.
• Maintain pool cleanliness and chemical readiness.
• Ensure camp vehicles and spaces are clean and ready.
• Report daily to Operations Manager and follow safety precautions.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, Operations Staff play a hands-on role in the day-to-day upkeep and preparation of Morgan's Camp. This is a seasonal, on-site position. Staff will receive a weekly stipend that includes room and board. This role focuses on the ground-level operational tasks that keep Camp running smoothly, working closely with the Program, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Kitchen departments as needed.

Mandatory Training Dates:

May 17th, 2027 - May 28th, 2027

Summer Camp Dates:

May 29th, 2027 - August 9th, 2027

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

• Operate Wonder Wagon to provide safe and reliable on-site camper transportation
• Assist with First Aid kit restocks and inventory
• Ensure water stations are stocked and ready for camp use throughout the day
• Assist with Hartman Hall dining operations including but not limited to meal service, dishwashing, dining hall clean-up and turnover between groups
• Assist Operations Manager with Volunteer check-in and oversight
• Assist with maintaining and operating Camp store
• Assist Program Department with preparations necessary for incoming Camps
• Assist Maintenance Department with upkeep/preparations necessary for incoming camps and events
• Provide support for camp activities such as basic AV operation, set-up and takedown
• Maintain cleanliness and chemical readiness of pools for program use
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of Camp vehicles and common spaces throughout Camp
• Report daily to Operations Manager
• Provide support for both Program, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Kitchen departments as needed

General

• Mitigate risk whenever possible and make safety recommendations to all departments
• Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain an understanding of current best-practices
• Actively support and promote a safe environment and ensure that proper safety precautions are being followed
• Any other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license is preferred
• Commitment to the mission and core values of Morgan's Camp as well as the implementation of these values in all daily work activity
• Must possess high levels of self-motivation, attention to detail, and time-management
• Ability to work effectively across departments, with members of the management team, volunteers, and partner camps with confidence and professionalism.

Working Conditions:

• Physical Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and twisting upper body for long periods of time.
  • Much physical effort is required on a routine basis: the ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required. Will be occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Frequent and at times, a high level of walking is required.
• Environmental Demands
  • The work environment is an outdoor camp environment with continuous outdoor activity and exposure to weather.
  • The ability to move quickly across campus on uneven terrain.
• Additional Information
  • The continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate camp staff attire at all times.
  • Onsite living required and housing is provided.
