Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC-Kenworth) invites you to join the Summer Operations Intern Program at our Springfield location. Over 12 weeks, interns rotate through Parts and Service departments, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to process improvements under supervision.

You will develop leadership and customer-service skills through real projects, with a starting pay of $20 per hour and opportunities for networking, training, and a potential pathway into our Full-Time Management

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university.
• Willingness to work 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.
• Leadership and sales skills strongly preferred.
• Strong commitment to providing quality work and excellent customer service.
• Ability to accept constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Execute business initiatives while receiving hands-on experience in all facets of the dealership.
• Utilize education, training, and experience to perform assigned job functions under close supervision of a manager or other designated employees.
• Develop skills necessary to rotate within the assigned department to get a comprehensive understanding of running the business.
• Opportunity to conduct a summer-long process improvement project.

Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC-Kenworth) is a multi-state network of Kenworth truck dealers providing more than 50,000 customers with a full range of truck services. MHC's Operations Intern Program is a 12-week version of our Management Trainee Program. Over the course of the summer, you will be given a hands‑on deep dive into how our Parts or Service Department operates, by rotating through each position in the department and helping contribute to the business.
