Job summary

Bloomberg Industry Group in Arlington, TX offers a summer program for aspiring journalists focusing on general assignment and beat reporting under supervision. You will research and write news stories and features for assigned publication(s), with deadlines and mentorship.

At the start of Summer 2027, you should be an undergraduate senior, recent graduate, or enrolled in a graduate journalism program. Housing is provided, and you will participate in charitable activities along with the team.

Job description

You will perform general assignment and beat reporting and write in-depth analytical pieces under supervision. You will research and write news stories and features for assigned publication(s), including beat reporting, with supervision.

What you will do:

• Hands-On Work Experience - Perform real work on deadline as a member of our team and walk away with a portfolio of clips.
• Learn to work with the sense of urgency and accuracy needed in a modern newsroom.
• Receive essential feedback and coaching from a mentor just as invested in your success as you are.
• Engage with senior leaders and expert professionals at Bloomberg Industry Group.

You need to have:

• Three published news clips. Do not submit with your application. We will ask for them during initial screening.
• A drive to produce great journalism.
• Ability to pitch and write both breaking and enterprise stories.
• Desire to interview industry leaders and policymakers.
• Willingness to collaborate with our team of reporters and editors.
• At the start of Summer 2027, completed at least three years of an undergraduate program (i.e., a rising senior), just graduated from your college or university, or be enrolled in a graduate journalism program.
• Prior experience in journalism, including campus media.
• Ability to work within a team under deadline pressure.
• Your application must be submitted by Friday, Oct. 30, 2026.
