MKS Instruments, Inc. in Milpitas, CA offers an internship in the Automation Engineering Team. You will work with a cross-functional group to design and test robotic end effectors, assemble components, and report results from your experiments.
The ideal candidate is an undergraduate student with basic SolidWorks knowledge, 3D printing experience, a grounding in mechanics, and some Python programming. Strong communication and experience with optics are a plus; no travel is required.
As an Intern in the Automation Engineering Team, you will work amongst a cross-functional team to develop end effectors and actuators for use in precision automated processes. You will use mechanical CAD and 3D printing to rapidly iterate. Your role will be hands on, assembling and testing your designs and reporting your results. In this role, you will report to the Director of Automation Engineering.
Travel Requirements: No travel required.
Hourly Pay Range: $27.00 to $31.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
