Job summary

The Efficiency Network (TEN) is offering a 12-week summer internship in Pittsburgh, PA, paid and full-time (40 hours/week). The program is designed for degree-seeking students enrolled in civil/ME programs and coordinated with Duquesne Light Holdings, DLH, with a hybrid work model requiring two days in the office.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in design support and construction project activities, developing analytical and communication skills while contributing to real projects.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently or in a team.

Location

Hybrid In Pittsburgh, PA

• Internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid, and run for 12 weeks (May-August).
• Internships are located in Pittsburgh and follow DLH's Hybrid Work Model (described below).
• Candidates must be full-time, degree-seeking students enrolled in an accredited college or university and have completed their Sophomore year of studies.
• Candidates must have at least one semester remaining after completion of the internship/must not have graduated prior to the internship starting.
• Candidates must be in good academic standing.
• Candidates must be willing to work the required schedule as defined in the job description.
• Demonstrated leadership ability through studies, employment or extracurricularactivities.
• Aptitude for problem solving; strong communication skills.

Overall Purpose

TEN (The Efficiency Network) is a provider of customized energy solutions for large businesses, governments, universities and hospital systems. The TEN - Construction intern will participate in various activities related to design support on existing development and construction projects.

Education/Experience

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Skills/Abilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

Hybrid Work

All internships follow our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Interns must be in the immediate Pittsburgh area for the summer. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
