Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits in Indianapolis offers a structured internship across Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, Special Events, and Warehouse & Delivery to help you learn the alcohol distribution industry.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, participate in on-site training, and work toward learning goals with multiple teams in a leading beverage distribution company.

Qualifications

• Must be a junior in college and graduating the following semester or year
• Pursuing a BS/BA in business, sales, marketing, communications, retail, or hospitality
• Reside in the internship vicinity or be able to obtain housing
• Must be at least 21 years old at the start of the internship
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Work with a variety of teams to become familiar with all aspects of the company
• Participate in training, on-site meetings, and department-wide learning opportunities as available
• Assist with On-Premise Surveys
• Support the team with additional projects as assigned and defined by learning goals

Overview

The Intern works in one area of our business or a variety of teams including but not limited to: Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, Special Events, and Warehouse & Delivery to gain knowledge and understanding of the alcohol distribution industry. The structured internship opportunity is designed to give students exposure to the wine and spirits industry and broad experience in various aspects of the relationship between marketing, sales, and distribution.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with a variety of teams to become familiar in all aspects of the company
• Participate in training, on-site meetings, and department‑wide learning opportunities as available
• Assist with our On‑Premise Surveys
• Support the team with additional projects as assigned and defined by student's specific learning goals
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Reside in the vicinity of the internship or can obtain housing
• Must be a Junior in college and graduating the following semester or year completing BS/BA in a variety of majors including but not limited to business, sales, marketing, communications, retail, or hospitality
• Must be at least 21 years of age at the start of the internship
• Maintain at a minimum a 2.0 GPA (Grade Point Average)
• Teamwork approach to accomplishing goals
• Attention to details
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to secure and maintain a valid driver’s license and auto‑liability insurance in accordance with state laws

• Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time may include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile device
• Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
• Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include driving throughout the day with segments up to 2 hours
• May require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 48lbs
