OUR BANK - The Federal Reserve is the central bank of the United States and is one of the most influential, trusted, and prestigious financial organizations. It consists of twelve Reserve Banks located around the country and the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta territory covers the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which includes Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, and portions of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The Atlanta Fed and the other Reserve Banks play an important part in all three of the Fed's functions: monetary policy, bank supervision and regulation, and the operation of a nationwide payment system.

SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENT

This role will support the local Information Security function in delivering District-specific security services that complement centralized enterprise security programs. This role provides exposure to the unique responsibilities of District-level security work, including local incident coordination, threat monitoring, risk assurance, and stakeholder engagement — all performed in close partnership with central security teams while addressing needs specific to this Reserve Bank location.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Networking Knowledge: Understand TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls to see how data moves and where vulnerabilities hide.
• Operating Systems: Know your way around both Windows and Linux command lines, file structures, and user permissions.
• Security Principles: Grasp core ideas like the CIA triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability), threat analysis, and basic risk management.
• Basic Scripting: Write simple scripts in Python or PowerShell to automate tasks and analyze data quickly.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• This position will require at minimum fingerprinting for a criminal background check, education and employment verification, along with potential additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job.
• Any offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of any required background screening. These screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take up to approximately 8 weeks to be completed.
• The screening covers areas such as education/employment verification, criminal history, credit history, and reaches out to your references and people that know you well.
• For Law Enforcement positions, physical, psychological, drug, stress/EKG, and attending an academy will be required.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta employees must comply with the Bank’s ethics rules.
