Job summary

Aquatech is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for our Canonsburg, PA office. This full-time internship lasts up to 90 days and begins in the 3rd week of May 2025.

You will collaborate with piping and equipment engineers to learn the mechanical design process and complete a development assignment using mechanics, strength of materials, and hydraulics. The role emphasizes automation of repetitive tasks with VBA in Excel, Python, or MATLAB, and requires basic CAD knowledge.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in engineering or similar collegiate classes preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of CAD tools such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Programming skills in Python or MATLAB are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Interact with piping and equipment engineers to understand the Mechanical design process (piping designs and structural steel).
• Work on and complete a development assignment for the design of a component using mechanics, strength of materials, and hydraulics.
• Develop an application to automate a repetitive task within the Mechanical department using VBA (in Excel), Python, or MATLAB.
• Provide a report at the end of the internship describing tasks, objectives and conclusions.

The hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
