Heitman is seeking a rising Junior for the 2027 Summer Internship in Human Resources, based in Chicago. You will gain exposure to HR functions, policies, HRIS, and data reporting while collaborating across departments.

The program includes immersive onboarding, cross-functional project work, and a capstone project with real-world application in real estate investment management. In-office, five days a week, with mentoring and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in HR, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Business, or related majors.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Love collaboration–working across multiple departments.
  • Problem solving experience leveraging analytical and critical thinking in school or business.
  • Think outside the box mindset with a desire to brainstorm creative solutions in a changing industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Gain broad HR exposure supporting core HR functions, including HR policies and compliance, HRIS administration and support, reporting and data management, employee programs and other HR generalist tasks and responsibilities.
  • Partner on projects related to total rewards, wellness initiatives, engagement, and process improvement while developing an understanding of how HR supports business strategy and operations across the organization.
  • This role is in office 5 days a week.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and investor-related HR processes where applicable.
  • Support the internship program by coordinating capstone projects and cohort activities.

Heitman is seeking a rising Junior to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program in our Human Resources department. This team is responsible for investor reporting and analysis and is a great place to start your career in real estate and gain experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment !

The expected hourly rate for this role is $25/ hr and will be further discussed during the interview process. This range represents what Heitman reasonably and in good faith believe s we would pay a qualified candidate for this role at the time of posting .
