Responsibilities

  • Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.
  • Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarises results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.
  • Utilises internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.
  • Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Summary

As a Finance Intern at APS, you’ll gain hands‑on experience supporting the financial insights and analysis that help power critical business decisions. Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll contribute to projects that support reliable and affordable energy delivery, operational excellence, and long‑term planning. Your work will help teams better understand financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support initiatives that positively impact the communities APS serves.

Potential Projects and Experiences

  • Drive Financial performance for critical business areas across the organization such as Transmission & Distribution, Generation, Information Technology and more.
  • Analyze financial data to help business teams understand performance trends and support informed decision‑making.
  • Assist with budget and forecast reviews, identifying key variances and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support cross‑functional projects focused on sustainability reporting, rate case modelling, and economic impact studies.
  • Help identify process improvements and efficiencies that enhance organisational performance.
  • Present findings and recommendations through clear, professional communication and data‑driven insights.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance or related field.

This paid temporary full‑time internship spans 10 weeks during the summer. Interns receive mentorship, professional development, opportunities for site visits, networking, and more.

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate degree program.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Involvement with campus finance clubs or organisations.
Major Accountabilities
