Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Amarillo, TX offers a 2027 Summer Intern position in Liaison Engineering.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 60 college credits completed before internship start date or prior Bell internship experience.
  • Able to complete the full 10 weeks (June 1–August 7, 2026).
  • GPA 3.0+ preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Liaison Engineering and site teams in solving aircraft issues through repair design.
  • Work with Build and Quality teams to identify alternative solutions on demand.
  • Collaborate with engineers to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve problems in a fast-paced environment.

Day in the Life of a Liaison Engineering Intern

We are looking for inquisitive and driven individuals with a passion to innovate. Bring your mechanical, and material science experience along with fresh ideas to Amarillo, TX to work with engineers who analyze, troubleshoot and resolve aircraft issues often through design of repair. Our engineers find new ways of doing things within disciplined processes to keep Bell at the forefront of aviation technology. Bell has some of the most advanced commercial and military aircraft in the world, in large part because our team members push each other to the top of their game working creatively and tirelessly to get us there.

As a Liaison Engineering Intern at Bell in Amarillo, you can expect to work under the mentorship of career engineers and other site-level leadership in a fast-paced ever-changing environment to determine your enthusiasm and fit for the work we do. You will support Build Team and Quality team members to find alternative solutions immediately available to them.

Qualifications
What You'll Need
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher with a major in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering - Required.
  • Minimum 60 college credit hours completed prior to the start of the internship (June 1, 2026) or prior Bell internship experience
  • Able to complete the entire 10 weeks of the internship: June 1- August 7, 2026
  • 3.0 GPA or higher preferred
What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Previous internship experience in an engineering role, preferably in an aerospace, technology and/or manufacturing organization.
  • Demonstrated experience working on a cross functional team(s), involving an atmosphere of coordination and collaboration with heightened levels critical thinking.
  • Experience including willingness to learn and expand knowledge of complex mechanical systems. Examples include troubleshooting, disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly and test of automotive systems and/or components; farm equipment, robotic devices, personal projects, etc.
  • High integrity, a strong work ethic and drive to be successful in a complex work environment.
  • Direct knowledge and interest to make the high desert of the Texas Panhandle your future home.
  • Strong computer skills with focus on: 3-D Modeling, Planning, Database & Microsoft Office Tools.
