Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated invites students to join its 2027 Summer Intern: Engineering - Product Development program in Reading, PA. Qualifications

• Enrolled as a student in May-August 2027 for a Bachelor's or Master's degree related to engineering.
• Experience with 3D modeling and design tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and development of metal enclosure assemblies for electrical components.
• Engage in 3D modeling, prototype development, and 3D-printed parts.
• Support PCBA integration, cable layout, and design troubleshooting.
• Contribute to the full product development process and project execution.
• Present findings and progress to local management at program end.

2027 Summer Intern: Engineering - Product Development

The Hubbell Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.

This intern will focus on designing and developing a metal enclosure assembly for electrical components and external operators, including the required mounting hardware. The role will support the full product development process through 3D modeling, prototype development, 3D-printed parts, PCBA integration, cable assembly layout, design troubleshooting, and validation of the completed assembly.

What will help you thrive in this role?

• Full-time enrollment in an accredited college or university throughout the internship program period (May-August 2027), pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree related to the internship (required)
• Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred
• Familiary with 3D Modeling and Design programs (i.e. Creo, Solidworks, Solid Edge) preferred

Intern compensation is determined based on academic standing and expected graduation date. Hourly rates for this position range from $22.50 to $29.00 per hour.
