Job summary

Charter Communications offers a paid 11-week summer internship to students pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree. The program runs May 26 through August 6, 2027, with mentorship, development sessions, and real-world telecommunications exposure. • Participate in department and intern cohort projects (80% of schedule).
• Engage in kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities.
• Assist Data Center engineering tasks including installation, operations and maintenance of vertical equipment.
• Support power planning, HVAC planning, data center architecture and cable management.

What you can expect in this role

As a Spectrum intern, you'll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort.

Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects and final presentations.

This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business.

Internship responsibilities may include:

• The Data Center Engineer will be responsible for managing the installation, operations, and maintenance of vertical equipment supporting our flagship platforms. Additionally, the intern will assist with critical infrastructure planning and operations. The intern will greatly assist in the day‑day operations of the Kennewick Regional Data Center.


• Power planning, HVAC planning, Data Center architecture and resource allocation, Layer 1 cable installation / management

Required qualifications

• Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028


• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor's degree


• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program


• Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program


• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Data center critical infrastructure skills -- Power, HVAC, Cable planning, project management
