Job summary

Charter Communications invites a motivated student to join our Spectrum IT internship program for an 11-week period this summer. You will work with two teams, focusing on department and intern cohort projects, and gain exposure to DevOps practices in a large telecommunications environment.

Throughout the internship, you will participate in kickoff conferences, professional development sessions, networking activities, and final presentations, while receiving mentorship and growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor's degree
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
• Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship

• The Commercial Services and Enterprise Platform team is looking for a DevOps Engineer who would be responsible for developing and maintaining automated deployment pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.

• This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship designed to give you real-world experience and meaningful exposure to the telecommunications industry in your chosen field.
• Internship program runs from May 26 through August 6, 2027.
• In addition to role‑specific projects, you'll take part in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship and experiences that help you grow personally and professionally.

What you can expect in this role

As a Spectrum intern, you'll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort.

Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects and final presentations.

This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business.

Internship responsibilities may include:

• The Commercial Services and Enterprise Platform team is looking for a DevOps Engineer who would be responsible for developing and maintaining automated deployment pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery. This position offers exposure to a wide range of development and deployment technologies with direction and tutelage from senior engineers in a lively Charter IT team.
• The core job duties for a DevOps Engineer are to bridge the gap between software development and IT operations to enhance the software delivery process. They will collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline processes, enhance system performance, and manage infrastructure as code. Their role includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud environments for scalability and security. Ultimately, they will drive continuous integration and delivery practices to accelerate development cycles.
