Job summary

Stryten Energy invites motivated engineering students to join its Salina, KS facility for a 2027 summer internship in the Transportation division. You will work 40 hours per week on-site, gain hands-on lean manufacturing exposure, and contribute to process improvements using 5S, Kaizen, and CAD design where needed.

Applicants should be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029, pursuing a BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, with a 3.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in one of the specified engineering fields with a 3.0+ GPA.
• Graduating between Dec 2027 and May 2029.
• On-site daily internship with housing and transportation required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Learn lean concepts through training provided.
• Implement 5S techniques across plant areas.
• Identify lean wastes and opportunities and propose solutions.
• Assist in training employees on lean methods as needed.
• Perform time studies to support process improvements.
• Design improvements in CAD as required.
• Participate in Kaizen/SMED events.

For our transportation batteries, we work directly with retail partners to put batteries on their shelves and then into your vehicles. For our motive and network power batteries, we sell directly to our customers.

Our Salina facility is part of the transportation division and is located at 413 E Berg Road. The internship will begin in May 2027 and end in August 2027, and work 40 hours a week. This is a paid opportunity, but housing is not provided, so you must have both housing and transportation.

Assignments May Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Learn and understand lean concepts through training provided
• Implement 5S techniques throughout the plant (Production/ labs, etc)
• Implement lean principles and identify lean wastes/potential opportunities in various production areas and provide possible solutions
• If needed, train employees for lean (Guidance and training will be provided for the same)
• Performing time studies
• Design using CAD for necessary improvements suggested (If required)
• Participate in Kaizen/SMED event

We Are Looking For Students

• Graduating between DEC 2027 and MAY 2029
• Working towards BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
• With a GPA of 3.0 or greater
• You must have housing and transportation
• The position is required to work on-site daily
