Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids invites students to contribute to the cockpit display system graphics server, gaining hands-on experience in software requirements, design, coding and verification. You will learn to apply aerospace software processes while collaborating with engineers in a lab setting.

What You Will Do:

• Contribute to Software Requirements, Design, Code, and Verification of the cockpit display system’s graphics server.
• Understand Collins Aerospace processes related to software development and verification and apply them to current projects.
• Work with desktop computer in an office environment and with target hardware in an engineering lab to achieve the goal of delivering a high-quality software product within schedule and cost constraints
  

What You Will Learn:

• Identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools.
• Clearly summarize encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion.
• Work together in a collaborative team that is part of multi large systems
• Full life cycle development of DO-178 DAL A certified software

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) disciplineand actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Demonstrated interest in embedded software solutions and board-level device drivers
• Programming experience in C,C++and/or Python
• Comfortable withreal-time operating system andobject-oriented programming concepts
• Experience withall phases of the software development life cycle

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
