Job summary

HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi invites applications for the 2027 Summer College Intern – Contracts & Pricing. The internship offers exposure to both technical and administrative work and the possibility of future full-time employment.

Applicants must be at least 18, enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Engineering, Business, Finance or IT, maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, and be able to work a 40-hour week for 10 weeks during the summer.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old before the start of the summer intern program (Mid-May).
• Be enrolled in a degreed program that supports the company’s business requirements (Engineering, Business, Finance, Information Technology).
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (transcripts may be required).
• Attend a college/university in the fall following the internship.
• Successfully complete a background investigation, a physical, and a hair follicle drug screen.
• Work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer.

The Role

Ingalls Shipbuilding offers internships which allow students to gain experience in technical or administrative positions and provide the opportunity to possibly gain future full-time employment.

Some engineering, technical, and waterfront positions may require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, including the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc.

Must Have

1. Be at least 18 years of age before the start of the summer intern program (Mid-May)
2. Be enrolled in a degreed program that supports the company’s business requirements. Typically in the following areas: Engineering, Business, Finance, Information Technology
3. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (Most recent college transcripts will be required and must be uploaded in the system at the time of application)
4. Attend a college/university (undergraduate or graduate program) in the fall following the internship
5. Successfully complete a criminal background investigation, physical and a hair follicle drug screen
6. Work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer.
