HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding invites talented students to join the 2027 College Summer Intern - Infrastructure & Sustainability program in Pascagoula, MS. This internship runs for 10 weeks with a 40-hour work week, offering hands-on exposure in infrastructure and sustainability projects tied to shipbuilding.

Interns gain experience in technical or administrative roles and may be considered for future full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age before the start of the summer intern program (Mid-May).
• Be enrolled in a degreed program that supports the company’s business requirements. Typically in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (transcripts uploaded).
• Attend a college/university in the fall following the internship.
• Successfully complete a criminal background investigation, physical and a hair follicle drug screen.
• Work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer.
• An adequate email address is required when applying.

The Role

Ingalls Shipbuilding offers internships which allow students to gain experience in technical or administrative positions and provide the opportunity to possibly gain future full time employment.

Some engineering, technical, and waterfront positions may require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, including the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc.

Must Have

1. Be at least 18 years of age before the start of the summer intern program (Mid-May)
2. Be enrolled in a degreed program that supports the company’s business requirements. Typically in the following areas:
   • Mechanical Engineering
   • Civil Engineering
3. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (Most recent college transcripts will be required and must be uploaded in the system at the time of application)
4. Attend a college/university (undergraduate or graduate program) in the fall following the internship
5. Successfully complete a criminal background investigation, physical and a hair follicle drug screen
6. Work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer.
7. An adequate email address is required when applying, receiving communication, and obtaining employment offers.
