Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at a rural summer camp. You will oversee all prep and production for designated day parts, manage staff, and enforce allergen safety protocols in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

This on-site, live-in position runs May through Sept, with a demanding 6-day/70-hour week schedule. Competitive pay, a performance bonus, and room & board are provided to support a dedicated culinary team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional cooking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date; company-sponsored.
• Strong leadership, cooking skills, and ability to navigate I-Pad applications.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs; on-site living is required.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership position. You will oversee all prep and production for designated day part, staff management, and allergen safety at a top-tier summer camp.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations & Leadership: Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Culinary & Quality Excellence: Operational flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking execution, and timely meal service.
• Allergen & Safety Compliance: Strictly manage food allergy protocols (Kosher, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, etc.) and maintain top Health Department sanitation standards.
• Administration & Budget: Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting
• Client Relations: Serve as a liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
