Job summary

KOA Campgrounds is seeking a Maintenance/Grounds Team Member in Michigan to maintain campground buildings, facilities and grounds. You will perform basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs, and implement regular maintenance programs across pools, lawns, landscaping and equipment.

The role requires working with safety guidelines, handling chemicals responsibly, and delivering attentive guest service. Nights, weekends, and holidays are required, and a driving license is needed.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing equipment and installation.
• Basic knowledge of chemical properties, handling, and usage.
• Basic knowledge of propane and gasoline dispensing.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs to campground buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds as directed by the Campground Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or owners.
• Implement maintenance and cleaning programs including pool/spa, lawn mowing, weed eating, landscaping, garbage pickup, propane pumping, game machines, laundry servicing and other upkeep.
• Comply with safety programs for equipment, tools, and chemicals to protect staff and guests.
• Provide superior customer service by being attentive, responsive and helpful to guests; report problems or requests to management.
• Other duties may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

REPORTS TO

Campground Manager and/or Regional Manager

Position Summary

Responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the campground buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Perform basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs, and maintenance to campground buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds as directed by the Campground Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor or the owner(s).
• Implement daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and cleaning programs as instituted by the Campground Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor or the owner(s), including the pool/spa, lawn mowing, weed eating, landscaping, garbage pick-up, propane pumping, game machine, laundry servicing and various other campground equipment upkeep.
• Comply with all KOA, federal, state and local safety programs by adhering to established guidelines in the operation and storage of various equipment, tools, and chemicals, ensuring your safety, as well as that of fellow staff and campground customers.
• Provide superior customer service by being attentive, responsive and helpful to guests needs. Report all customer problems, requests or complaints to the Campground Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor or the owner(s).

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, lift and carry 25 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds regularly

• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch and climb
• Must be able to operate various loud and vibrating maintenance tools and equipment
• Requires the use of hands/fingers to handle or feel
