Select Sires, Inc. is seeking a Corporate Communications Intern for our Plain City, Ohio facility. This temporary, full-time, hourly position reports to the Director of North America Marketing, Terri Smith.

The role involves producing yearly breeding calendars, writing press releases, coordinating trade shows, and assisting with desktop publishing while performing general clerical tasks. Candidates should have strong grammar and writing skills, knowledge of journalism/PR, and experience with

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Corporate Communications Intern . This temporary, full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is at our Plain City, Ohio, facility and reports to Terri Smith, Director of North America Marketing.

A Corporate Communications Intern 's work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs.

Requirements

• Must have strong grammar and writing skills and a focus on details.


• Must have basic journalism and/or public relations knowledge; experience with desktop design (Adobe Creative Suite) is a must, knowledge of Associated Press Style is a plus.

Preferred skills and abilities

• Major in communications, or in dairy- or animal-science with a communications focus, or a related area of study.


• Familiarity with dairy cattle pedigrees.

Preferred education and experience

• Students in their junior or senior year are preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Seldomly (0-1 hours) floor lift (0-17"), knee lift (18" -29"), waist lift (30" -36"), chest lift (37" -60"), overhead lift (>60"), push/pull or carry up to 20 lbs.


• Seldomly (0-1 hours) climb stairs, squat/kneel, crawl, twist or bend/stoop.


• Constantly (6-8 hours) sit or stand/walk.
