Job summary

Edw. C. Levy Co. in Colorado Springs is seeking a quality control lab technician to support asphalt and aggregate testing in the lab and at field sites.

Qualifications

• Maintain lab equipment, calibration standards, and documentation.
• Assist in mix designs and material evaluations.
• Process incoming field samples and maintain sample inventory.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Perform density testing and provide backup coverage for Density Techs.
• Collect field samples (asphalt, aggregates, coring operations).
• Assist at quarry or paving sites based on staffing or project needs.
• Provide coverage for all QC positions during absences or peak demand.

QUALIFICATIONS (Skills, Knowledge, Experience)

• Must be comfortable working in the laboratory the majority of the time, with the ability to transition to field work when operational needs require.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Radiation safety certification preferred or related industry certifications.
• Proficient with computers and technology.
• CAPA/ LABCat certifications desired or willing to acquire.
• Proficient math, reading, and writing skills.
• Ability to tow a trailer.
• Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations and act in a professional manner.
• Ability to work various hours including nights, weekends and overtime.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to effectively manage conflict.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements
