Job summary

KCI Construction offers a Project Engineer Intern position designed to give hands-on experience in active construction projects. You will work with seasoned project managers and field teams, applying classroom knowledge to real project tasks.

You will gain exposure to submittals, RFIs, schedules, documentation, and closeout activities, while developing skills in estimating, planning, and coordination through mentorship from industry professionals.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Previous construction or engineering internship experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Assist with preparing and tracking project submittals and shop drawings.
• Help maintain Requests for Information (RFI) logs and support timely project communication.
• Assist with project schedules, status reports, and meeting minutes.
• Support project documentation and closeout activities.

• Assist with estimating and preconstruction activities as assigned.
