Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst Intern for our Space sector in Dulles, VA. You will join the East Region Space Superiority Division – Scheduling Management team and learn how integrated master plans and schedules are created and coordinated.

You will gain hands-on exposure to project management tools like Gantt and PERT, and develop skills in risk analysis, schedule tracking, and cross-functional coordination across finance, engineering, and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Be a student enrolled full-time pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027.
• Be majoring in Project Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Science, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, or similar related fields.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time.

Responsibilities

• Understand how major projects and program schedules are integrated across finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality.
• Track plans and schedules, perform basic risk analysis, and support resolution of critical path and network logic conflicts.
• Learn to use Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to measure progress.

How to track plans and schedules, perform basic risk analysis, and support the identification and resolution of critical path and network logic conflicts. How Gantt charts, PERT charts, milestone charts, earned value management, and other project management techniques are used to measure progress and identify performance variances, enabling teams to focus on critical areas. Basic Qualifications A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria.
