Job summary

Transcard offers an Operations internship in Chattanooga, designed to provide meaningful projects used by the business. You’ll see the direct impact of your contributions and gain insight into your chosen field while working with top professionals.

The program runs Monday–Friday during standard business hours. It is a paid internship with compensation based on qualifications, and the goal is to prepare you for post-graduate opportunities in our Operations department.

Qualifications

• Completed or currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
• Preferred Operations/Business majors.
• Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work remotely and independently.

Responsibilities

• Learn payment processes with the Customer Support team.
• Shadow the Client Experience team and assist processes.
• Handle card orders, research, transfers, loading/unloading cards, and reports.
• Support activation, registration, and account access requests.
• Assist in processing returned cards and maintain records.
• Contribute to resolving backlogs and high-volume initiatives.

Position Details:

Transcard offers an internship program in the FinTech industry. Our program is designed to provide you with meaningful projects utilized by the business. You'll see the direct impact of your contribution and get an inside perspective of your desired field while working alongside some of the best in our industry.

We continually strive to identify qualified individuals for post-graduate opportunities beyond the internship program.

This intern position will operate Monday-Friday during standard business hours. This position is a paid internship, compensation will be based on the qualifications of the applicant.

Our goal is to allow you to gain a better understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities within the Operations department while working toward your professional goals as related to your academic coursework.

Our corporate office is located in Chattanooga, TN.

We prefer our interns to be onsite in Chattanooga, TN. We do offer remote capabilities for qualified individuals. Candidate must reside in the US. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Operations internship will start with a one-on-one meeting with the Chief Operations Officer or your designated personnel to discuss the professional goal of your academic coursework to ensure you meet all academic requirements during the internship. Additionally, the internship will be supervised by our Operations team to provide routine feedback and status updates. There will be an exit interview with the Chief Operations Officer and Human Resources for continual improvement of the program. The Operations internship will provide exposure to a variety of opportunities within our Operations Department.

• Working with Customer Support team to learn payment processes and apply that to address issues that may arise with our services.
• Shadow the Client Experience team and assist with processes and procedures that help Transcard Clients.
• Daily tasks may include card orders, research, card to card transfer, loading cards, unloading cards, closing cards, unclosing cards, blocking cards, and running reports.
• Each request could be in a different system, which is imperative to gain knowledge of each internal system and its function.
• Assist with resolving client card activation, registration, and account access requests, providing timely support through the team's support/ticketing systems.
• Support the team in processing returned payment cards while maintaining accurate operational records.
• Contribute to resolving card-related backlogs and other high-volume operational initiatives as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to work remotely and independently from direct supervisor as needed.
• Must have great time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining records and processing transactions.
• Comfortable learning and navigating multiple internal systems and platforms.
• Ability to manage repetitive, high-volume tasks efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Preferred: Familiarity with customer support or ticketing platforms.

Education and/or Certifications:

• Completed or currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Business or similar.
• Preferred Operations Management, Business Administration, Business Management.
