Job summary

AMD offers a hands-on co-op/intern experience across multiple locations in the US, including Fort Collins, CO. You will work closely with software engineers to build and maintain applications, while receiving training across the full software development lifecycle and opportunities to automate processes.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a US university pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, with knowledge of C/C++, Python, and Linux, plus

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a US-based university in a Master’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of software engineering concepts and scripting languages is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Work with software engineers to build and maintain AMD software applications.
  • Receive training on the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
  • Create scripts to automate parts of the development process.
  • Learn debugging methodologies to identify root causes of issues.
  • Potential involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports.

  • Locations: Austin, TX, Boxborough, MA, Fort Collins, CO, Longmont, CO, Fishkill, NY, Rochester, NY
  • Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term
Duration
  • Spring/Summer Co-op: January 15, 2027 - August 13, 2027
  • Summer Internship:
    • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - August 13, 2027
    • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - September 10, 2027
  • Summer/Fall Co-op:
    • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - December 10, 2027
    • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - December 10, 2027
What You Will Be Doing
  • We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our software applications.
  • We will provide training on the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment.
  • We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process.
  • We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues.
  • In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in a US based University in a Master’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –
